Education Plan Details:

• Budget entry cost for essential tools: 400–$600 (I’ll share exact recommended starter kits in the free videos and Discord). Also check my Tool Guide
• Your progress is 100% dependent on your personal training schedule and dedication.
• Estimated time to become a quality, fully trained hand engraver: approximately 2 years of regular practice. This is not a guarantee — it’s based on your skill level, how consistently you practice, and what specific engraving goals you have.
• Styles I teach: lettering, patterns, and pictorial engraving using only traditional hand-push methods.
• Metals I work with and teach on: soft metals only — gold, silver, platinum, copper, brass, and pewter.
• What I do NOT teach orengrave: pneumatic engraving or any engraving on steel (no knives, guns, or steel watches).

What does a career (or hobby) as a hand engraver actually look like?

Income varies wildly depending on your goals:

• Adding engraving as a side skill to your existing jewelry work
• Becoming a full-time service engraver
• Keeping it as a passionate hobby

I only engrave fine jewelry through my official collaboration with Firestone Fine Jewelry.

For quality control, I will only engrave pieces that were purchased from or custom-made by Firestone Fine Jewelry.

I do not accept outside jobs or engrave customer-supplied jewelry that did not come through Firestone Fine Jewelry

All communication, scheduling, and coordination for engraving services is handled exclusively by the Firestone Fine Jewelry team.

Once we have a solid base of practiced students, I will begin offering:

• In-person workshops (graver making & sharpening, lettering intensives, pattern workshops, relief engraving, and more)
• Traveling classes at out-of-state schools or guilds when there is enough demand and a capable group of students ready to participate

All engraving taught is traditional hand-push only — no power tools or modern shortcuts in the core curriculum.

Safety is your responsibility — I will teach proper techniques, but please always use eye protection, proper lighting, and secure work-holding practices.

Progress timeline is an estimate only. Engraving is a skill that rewards patience and consistent practice.
