Firestone Fine Jewelry and Hazel Hand Engraving have come together to create a exclusive collection of high-quality hand engraved jewelry, as well as one-of-a kind bespoke pieces.

By partnering with Firestone Fine Jewelry's expert team, Marlen Hazel can now offer original custom designs alongside her signature hand engraving services. This partnership allows Marlen to focus on her educational pursuits while the expert team at Firestone Fine Jewelry guides you smoothly through every step of the custom jewelry process — from initial concept to the final engraved piece.

Step One: Choose or Design your Jewelry

The first step is simple: Choose a beautiful piece from Firestone Fine Jewelry’s existing collection, or collaborate with their team to design a completely bespoke piece from scratch.

Once you’ve selected your jewelry, fill out the engraving form and share your design ideas with us. We’ll work closely with you to bring your vision to life and determine exactly what’s possible with hand engraving.

Step Two: Design Your Engraving

Out team at Firestone Fine Jewelry will handle all the technical details for you — from material choices and production to the precise placement and design of the engraving. We’ll provide a transparent quote based on the complexity of your design, and work closely with you to coordinate every element so you feel fully confident in the final layout.

This streamlined process lets you focus on the meaning and sentiment behind your piece, while we take care of the logistics and craftsmanship.

Step Three: Drawing & Scribing

Once your design is approved, the Firestone Fine Jewelry team coordinates directly with Marlen Hazel to finalize every detail. Marlen then expertly draws the design by hand directly onto the jewelry piece using delicate, ink pens.

This highly detailed and tedious process requires exceptional skill, and Marlen’s mastery ensures that the hand-drawn ink layout is an exact match to your reference design before she begins the actual engraving.

Step Four: Engraving

With steady hands and incredible precision, Marlen Hazel then brings the design to life using traditional hand-push gravers. Utilizing exceptional skill and control, she
guides the graver across the surface of the metal, making precise, deliberate cuts that leave behind the original engraving design.

Every line is engraved with absolute accuracy, staying perfectly on the scribed drawing. This meticulous process is what creates the depth, clarity, and breathtaking detail that makes each hand-engraved piece truly exceptional.

Step Five: Final Inspection & Delivery

Once the engraving is complete and the jewelry is carefully polished, it undergoes a final detailed inspection to ensure every line is crisp, the luster is perfect, and the overall piece meets our highest standards.

Only then is it beautifully encapsulated in our signature packaging and delivered to you — ready to be worn, cherished, and loved for generations.

  • Our engraved pieces are designed to last decades. Since rings see the most wear, we offer repair and re-engraving services if your design fades over time.
  • The karat of gold you choose plays a role in how the design wears over time. Higher karat gold (18k) is softer and offers a richer glow but may soften faster with daily friction. Lower karat gold (14k) is harder and provides more resistance to scratches, keeping the engraving crisp for longer—making it an ideal choice for daily-wear items.
